Of course, as Mindmist's sheriff, Vinnie Backus understands sign language, since most of the neochimps use that to communicate face-to-face. In fact, he's still doing it when he's talking, after he realized Iris was deaf---he's making the "c" sign against his chest, like pinning on a badge, in the last panel, the sign for "sheriff". He's trying to impress a pretty lady.
Iris, on the other hand, doesn't want to advertise her differences, so she lip-reads and talks. Not that she's ashamed of being deaf or anything--but she is in a bar in a strange place she hasn't been in before.
I hope you caught this Tuesday's installment of
THE CROSSOVERLORD and it's Drunkduck mirror site (and now, comicgenesis mirror site). It will be the first of two pages I did about Mindmistress, solo, being "recruited"---and after that, there will be...well---combinations. Mindmistress will be in most of them. So if you want to see Mindmistress four times a week---start reading The CROSSOVERLORD. It will also feature the return of some old foes. Oh, and you might check out REALITEASE, to see which webcomics happen in Mindmistress' reality, among others.
I also hope you caught last Sunday's update of
FLICKERFLAME....where Beastbeauty finds out something. I'm working on the next one, but Mother's Day festivities will probably delday the next episode a few days. FEATURED LINK (Held over) : LUCKY DAWG ---well drawn werewolf-adventure strip.
If you want to know when I update---although I've been aiming for Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays...you can go to COMIC ALERT and sign up to see when Mindmistress...and many other webcomics...update. Drop by the Forum when you can. Ask questions. Debate. Comment. Talk about good superheroics in general. Return to discuss an excellent webcomic or two. Find out the meaning of life. (Hey, it could happen...) Vote in the lists above. Please? Spread the word in groups you frequent. And thanks for both. Oh, and remember if you vote on the Buzzcomix one, the first one, you will often get a glimpse of the next page...one panel of it, anyway.. |
